MIT Technology Review’s New Issue Reveals Annual 10 Breakthrough Technologies

CAMBRIDGE, MA – April 23, 2013: Today, MIT Technology Review releases its 2013 list of 10 Breakthrough Technologies (formerly the TR10). Our definition of a breakthrough is simple: an advance that gives people powerful new ways to use technology. As a whole, we intend this annual list not only to tell you which technologies you need to know about, but also to celebrate the creativity that produced them.

Jason Pontin, publisher and editor in chief, states: “Every year we pick the 10 technologies we think most likely to change the world. We are interested in how technologies can solve really hard problems, whose solution will expand human possibilities. These technologies are an expression of our preferences and emphases, and they grow out of our reporting over the previous year. This is the stuff we like.”

The May/June issue of MIT Technology Review will be available on newsstands worldwide May 7 and online at technologyreview.com on April 23.
