MIT Technology Review Announces Visionary Speakers and Agenda for 2014 EmTech MIT Event
CAMBRIDGE, Mass – July 30, 2014: Today, MIT Technology Review announces featured speakers and initial agenda for its annual EmTech MIT, a dynamic conference serving as an access point to the innovative people and companies changing the face of business and society as a whole. This year’s event will be held September 23–25, 2014, at the MIT Media Lab in Cambridge, Mass.
Each year, EmTech focuses on the emerging technologies that matter most–those with the greatest potential to change our lives. The event this fall examines emerging trends in neuroengineering, clean resources, the economics of technology, precision medicine, robotics, cognitive computing, and the Internet of things, plus MIT Technology Review magazine’s 2014 list of Innovators Under 35 and more.

Featured speakers include Erik Brynjolfsson, director of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy, discussing technology’s role in inequality; Francis deSouza, president of Illumina, on the arrival of precision medicine; Molly Jahn, professor at the University of Wisconsin Madison Global Health Institute, on engineering food security; Aaron Levie, cofounder and CEO of Box, discussing next-generation computing and mobility; Christof Koch, chief scientific officer of the Allen Institute for Brain Science, on cracking the brain’s codes, Marc Raibert, Founder and CEO, Boston Dynamics; and Astro Teller of Google[x], discussing moonshot thinking and purpose-driven innovation.
